Although John D. "Jack" Hahn, Jr., passed away in 1998, Withers Publishing will continue the series about the diesel fleet of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Each book pictorially covers particular groups of PRR locomotives including complete roster data and specifications of each model featured. A four-color laminated cover will feature an original painting, specially commissioned for each book.

The fifth book in the series covers the 200-unit fleet of Fairbanks, Morse & Co.-built models acquired by PRR between 1947 and 1956. From the dual-service Erie-builts to the 2,400-horsepower Train Master, all are covered in a variety of roster and action views.
